John Bennetts
Music producer, musician, composer, workshop facilitator, party boy!
John Bennetts has a wealth of professional recording and international touring experience including five years with the internationally acclaimed band, Eurogliders who created three hit albums including ten top 10 singles.
In his colourful career John also toured Australia with Eartha Kitt, created sound effects and sound scapes for stage productions, engineered and produced albums for solo artists, bands and from clinical psychologists through to Buddhist monks.
In 2002 John created “Performance Parties” (re-named Pop Idol Parties in 2008) providing Sydney kids with a fun alternative to a traditional birthday party and a real life pop star experience, recording their own CD with friends.
In recent years John has created, developed and run Corporate Idol for corporate clients, an outcome based team building and team bonding experience. He comments: “The power of music is an extraordinary catalyst for inspiration, motivation and bringing people together.”
John has extensive experience working with schools and students through his Music For Schools business. Its aim is to provide schools with innovative music programmes (created by his team of education specialists) focussing on thought provoking environmental and social themes, musicals, choir songs and orchestral music.
In 2006 John developed recording workshops for school aged children.
He now facilitates Apple’s Making Tracks workshops in Sydney schools motivating students to co-create, arrange, sing and record a song during an inspirational one day hands on experience providing an insight into the song writing and production process. During 2008-09 John facilitated and produced 75 songs with over 1,800 primary and secondary students.
He comments: “I love working with kids and find their enthusiasm and creativity an inspiration. I’ve found children to be particularly interested in and responsive to the ever growing consciousness regarding our environment and society”.
John also runs training and development sessions for teachers which take them through music software, microphones and recording techniques from the inception of a song to the finished product.
